6 Months Of Life Drawing - Exhibition

Bringing together work created during Life Drawing at Red Doors sessions over a six month period. The group was re-instated in January 2019, and these sketches, paintings and other diverse works date from that time onwards.

Everyone is welcome at the group, whatever level of experience they have or media they prefer to use. They are able to draw a different model at each session, with poses ranging from two to 30 minutes. The shorter sketches offer an opportunity to ‘warm up’ and get into the right frame of mind for drawing, while the longer poses allow for a focus on detail and more considered compositions. The exhibition features works based on poses of all lengths.

See the show at our open days on:

Saturday 28th September 12 - 5
Saturday 26th October 12 - 5

Live at Red Door

We're over the moon to announce another session of live music at Red Door Studios. With three acts from different parts of town this is an evening not to miss.

Rob Gore ~ is preparing a special solo set for us. Often operating as part of Celesta (duo), he plays the blues with conviction. We're so pleased he's willing to come all the way from Brixton.

Celesta

House Above the Sun ~ will be playing for us as a duo and are beautifully attuned to each other. Hailing from Sydenham, they create their own distinctive version of Americana, with hints of blues.

Watch their official video for Runaway Devil

Incredible Self Confidence ~ almost needs no introduction as East Ham residents and beyond will have heard this duo live. Psychedelic, bright and mournful all at the same time.

Incredible Self Confidence, Geri van Essen and Campbell Sibthorpe. LIVE

Poster 23rd Feb.jpg

An evening of music in the best live venue in East Ham featuring:
Incredible Self Confidence
Campbell Sibthorpe
Geri van Essen

East Ham based Incredible Self Confidence will be playing some songs from his long awaited EP, get it here
Expect songs of the uncanny, where forgotten spectres will rise to bask in splintered light.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Campbell Sibthorpe’s music paints rich, beautifully striking stories of love and death with the tenderness of Sufjan Stevens and the flourishing complexities of Fleet Foxes. Sibthorpe's innate curiosity for the unknown deepens in his wrestle to find where the divine meets the tragic, ecstatic or mundane; all this colliding amongst a backdrop of soaring melodies and brash emotion.

Geri van Essen is a folk singer based in East Ham whose voice has a simple, understated character. She will be performing her own quietly evocative songs.

This is a free event (donations welcome, they'll go towards the performers)
