Geri van Essen is an East Ham based singer. She discovered the joys of singing folk songs accompanied by guitar or banjo around a decade ago. The idea of recording some of her favourite American folk songs as well as her own compositions was conceived after moving to London.

Geri collaborated with friends to create a simple, personal record between 2015 and 2017. This mini album is called a New Hiding Place and was released on 10 February.

She will be joined by Rachel Finegan on trumpet.

Doors are at 7pm with live music from 8pm. 
Drinks and home cooked snacks will be available from the Red Door Studios cafe/bar. 
The event is free (a donation on the door is gratefully received and will go towards paying the performers)
